BJA super-heavy Main Bearing

After almost a year of intensive research, countless material tests, and numerous listening sessions, BJA-turntables proudly presents the BJA Heavy Main Bearing – developed for music lovers who refuse to compromise on precision, stability, and sound quality.

The BJA superheavy main bearing is fully CNC-machined from stainless steel. The spindle is hardened, highly polished with extreme precision, and runs on an ultra-hard silicon nitride ball. This rests on a five-millimeter-thick PEEK plate, which is additionally dampened by a thin silicone mat. The result is a construction that is not only extremely stable but also low in resonance, providing the ideal conditions for clean and detailed music reproduction.

Special attention during development was given to selecting the right plain bearing material. Plastic bearings such as POM or POM LX initially showed good running properties but proved problematic in practice: due to the heat generated by the adjacent motor, tolerances shifted during operation, resulting in audible speed fluctuations. With sintered bronze, however, these effects do not occur. In combination with stainless steel, the BJA Heavy Main Bearing remains stable and reliable even after many hours – a decisive advantage for consistent rotation and authentic music enjoyment.

Each spindle is carefully matched to its respective bearing and perfected through elaborate polishing. Only when a WOW "2-sigma" value between 0.03 and 0.05 percent is achieved is the result considered satisfactory. Each main bearing is then run in on a specially built test turntable for 24 to 48 hours and regularly checked. This ensures that every bearing delivered is immediately ready for installation and use.

The BJA Heavy Main Bearing is compatible with all models starting from the silentAir series and fits the platters of the Lenco L series "like a glove". Combined with the BJA Heavy Platter (another upgrade available from the silentAir series), weighing 6.2 kilograms for even smoother performance, it unfolds its full potential.

Thanks to the deliberately extended spindle nose, even thicker mats or multilayer sandwich constructions can be used flexibly – without having to forgo a record puck.

For demanding listeners, this means: significantly reduced noise, an open and detailed soundstage, and a construction that delivers maximum stability even in long-term use. This makes the BJA Heavy Main Bearing the ideal upgrade for anyone looking to take their analog music playback to the next level.

And for owners of the original Lenco chassis, a specially adapted heavy bearing is already in development.
